Look to Remember

Treasure memories of better times. Look at old photographs. Take the time to sort, print and archive photos that make you feel good or remind you of when you did. It’s easy to forget what we were like in better times and looking through photographs of a time not so very long ago jogs the memory and rekindles hope; Hope that soon things will be better and, again, you’ll find yourself smiling.

Frame a favourite picture of your spouse.

When you’re desperate and you wonder if God has forgotten or forsaken you, pray just one more prayer and you’ll find that He has not. He’s just giving you the chance to learn and to become more virtuous – a better you. Just as you would never leave your child, He will never leave His.

Hug your parents. Really hug them, a good squeeze. Smile at a small child. Cuddle someone’s baby. Spend a few hours with the sibling you’ve been worried about so you can really know that they’re ok.

If these times, for you, are good, mark them.  There will come a time you need to remember them.

Some say photographs are just for people with bad memories . . . I say all memories need a jog sometimes.
